Cancelled: 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

9/11 Ceremony Cancellation

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Cancelled Due to Regional Wildfire Response

Due to the multiple wildfires currently straining public safety resources throughout our region, and out of an abundance of caution to ensure resources remain available should the Bridge Fire impact Rancho Cucamonga, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

Each year, this ceremony serves as a solemn opportunity to honor and pay tribute to the 2,977 lives lost on that tragic day, including 343 firefighters, 23 New York Police Officers, and 37 Port Authority Police Officers, all of whom made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their community and country.

As public safety personnel, our highest responsibility is to safeguard the Rancho Cucamonga community and provide aid to those affected by the wildfires. With heavy hearts, we are committed to ensuring that resources are available to respond swiftly where they are most needed.

While we will not be gathering this year, the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and Police Department encourage everyone to take a moment in reflection and remembrance of those we lost and the lasting impact of that day on our nation.

We will never forget.
