The Rancho Cucamonga Public Library offers a variety of free and fun educational experiences for all ages. Storytimes are a great way for caregivers and families to learn about best practices in early literacy, to encourage early learning in your child’s life, and continue the learning at home.
Based on the overwhelming community feedback in the Fall 2025 Storytime Survey, all storytimes are now registered programs providing the convenience of reserving a space in advance.
Storytimes are a fun and interactive experience for the whole family promoting a love of reading and learning for all ages. Storytimes help caregivers and families learn early literacy best practices for continuing the learning experience in the home. Library storytellers model the five best practices of early literacy: Talk, Sing, Read, Write, Play. During a typical storytime, a storyteller reads a great story aloud encouraging the audience to participate. Storytimes incorporate songs and fingerplays, which help children learn about the structure and sound of language. Storytimes sometimes feature information on child development and early learning and may include play, which is a vital component in how children learn.
