Pet Wellness

Spay & Neuter

The RC Animal Center offers vouchers for cats ($100) and dogs ($200) that belong to RC residents. To obtain a voucher, license your cat or dog first. You can select your pet is spayed or neutered to license at the lower rate. Once you have licensed your pet, you can request a voucher by emailing field.services@cityofrc.us. Vouchers and pet licenses can also be obtained by visiting the Animal Center's front desk.

Microchip Your Pet

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center offers microchipping services by appointment only. For an appointment call 909-466-7387.

Surrendering Your Pet

We understand that life changes may result in having to rehome a family pet. We accept owner surrendered pets that belong to residents of Rancho Cucamonga. We also accept the surrender of pets that were previously adopted from our Animal Center. Both services are by appointment only, with a maximum of 2 pets per appointment. Fees for surrender are Dog, Cat, Rabbit = $90; Small Pet (Guinea Pig, Hamster, etc.) = $20; Exotic or Livestock = Variable.

Vaccination Services

VetCare Vaccination Services hosts a low-cost vaccine clinic at the Animal Center every weekend, rain or shine. Please visit their website for fees and hours. Note: Services are currently Drive Thru.

Puff's Pantry

Puff’s Pantry offers food and supplies (as available) to dog and cat owners in need within the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Supply pick up services are by appointment only. For more information, click this tile.

Events

Field Services

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center's Field Services Division is responsible for animal control in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Field Officers are available from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to respond to calls such as:

Stray animals
Deceased animals
Animal rescue
Enforcing animal laws
Animal bites
Rabies control
Nuisance animal complaints
Investigating animal cruelty and neglect cases
Wildlife concerns

The goal of the Field Services Division is to promptly and professionally assist the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga with a wide variety of services relating to the care and control of animals. Field Services can be reached at 1-909-466-7387 ext. 1.

Field Services Emergency Dispatch

Field Officers are on-call between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 9-1-1. If you need help with an after-hour animal-related emergency call 1-909-466-7387 ext. 1 to reach the Field Services Emergency Dispatch. Please note: Field Officers only respond to after-hour emergency calls such as injured animals, aggressive animals, animal bites, disasters, and police and fire assistance. Stray animals should be contained by the finder (if safe to do so) for the night and brought into the Animal Center when we re-open.

Nuisance Noise Complaints (Barking Dogs) can cause general annoyance or discomfort to neighbors. Learn the process for these types of complaints.

Living With Coyotes

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center will assist residents with tips on humanely co-existing with coyotes. We will also respond to coyotes that are sick, injured, or are determined to be a public safety risk. The RC Animal Center is prohibited from trapping and relocating coyotes. Keep Me Wild - Coyotes

Coyotes are smart adaptable canines that have learned to live comfortably along side people in residential neighborhoods. Coyotes play an important role in the ecosystem, helping to keep rodent populations under control. Relocating a problem coyote is not an option. You can help prevent human-coyote conflicts.
