The City’s Engineering Services Department is in the process of updating our Pavement Management Plan (PMP). Engineering staff rely on the PMP to understand the current pavement condition and plan for projects. Over time due to vehicle wear and tear, environmental elements such as sun and rain, and other factors, the pavement condition on any given roadway will deteriorate. This plan, which is updated every five years, allows staff to plan projects accordingly to prolong the life of the pavement. This effort is being conducted in partnership with Roadway Asset Services (RAS), a professional firm specializing in pavement asset management.
The first step of this update includes a road condition assessment of the pavement condition of all City roadways. During this time, you may see RAS data collection vehicles equipped with specialized cameras and sensors traveling throughout the community during daylight hours. The data collection process will not require any traffic control devices or road closures and should not impact daily operations. Data collection will be ongoing from May 8 - June 20, 2025.
