With the growing popularity of e-bikes and other e-conveyances, the City of Rancho Cucamonga is taking proactive steps to promote safe riding habits and protect our community. The newly adopted E-Bike Ordinance No.1039 addresses increasing concerns about unsafe riding, collisions, and property damage in public areas. To help prevent accidents, it’s important to choose the right e-bikes that fits the rider’s age, skill level, and physical ability and to always follow traffic laws.

Make sure to follow these guidelines when on the road:
- Ride responsibly: Avoid behaviors that could put you or others at risk—such as ignoring traffic laws or signs, riding against traffic, performing stunts or wheelies, racing or carrying extra passengers on single-rider bikes.
- Stay hands-free: Do not use phones or handheld devices while riding unless it’s completely hands-free and voice-activated.
- Yield to pedestrians: Always stop or slow down for people walking when coming out of driveways, bike paths, or alleys.
- Ride in line: Ride in a single file or two side-by-side only where the road or path is made for bikes.
- Park it right: Do not leave your e-bike or other e-conveyances where it blocks sidewalks or walkways.
- Enforcement is real:
- You can be fined or have your bike impounded if you're caught breaking the rules.
- Parents may be responsible if a minor breaks the law or causes damage.
