Heritage Community Park Bridge Completion

The City of Rancho Cucamonga celebrated the completion of the new Heritage Community Park Bridge on March 2 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The bridge strengthens connections throughout the park and provides safe access for pedestrians, equestrians, and vehicles. The project also includes new pathways that maintain ADA access to the bridge, upgraded lighting that meets current City standards, and new landscaping and vegetation to enhance the surrounding area.

The Heritage Park Bridge project will construct a new multi-use bridge to replace the existing vehicular, pedestrian, and equestrian bridges that span over Demens Creek Channel to the equestrian arenas in Heritage Community Park. Lighting will also be upgraded to new City standards, and new landscaping and vegetation will be installed.

Project Information

Anticipated construction start date - June 23
Construction is expected from June 2025 to April 2026, with work hours from 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
During construction, access to the Equestrian Arenas via the pedestrian, vehicular, and equestrian bridges at Demens Creek Channel will be closed.
Heritage Community Park, including the main entrance on Beryl Street, will remain open and accessible throughout construction. Visitors may experience intermittent work near the park entrance.
The main parking lot will remain open, with additional on-street parking available on Hillside Road and Beryl Street.
Parking in neighborhoods may be impacted during weekends with park events. Unless parking restrictions are in place, public on-street parking is permitted. Please contact the Police Department's non-emergency line at 1-909-941-1488 to report any concerns.

FAQs

The existing timber-framed bridges are approaching the end of their service lives and need to be replaced to maintain access to the equestrian facilities, trails, and the Fire District emergency response staging area.

No, Heritage Community Park will remain open during construction however there may be intermittent work near the park entrance.

Please utilize the main parking lot at the Park as usual. On-street parking is also available on Hillside Road and Beryl Street.

Construction is expected to be up to one year.
