On March 17, 2020 the City of Rancho Cucamonga was named a finalist for the All-America City Award. Rancho Cucamonga is among 22 other finalists throughout the United States and the only finalist from the State of California. The All-America City Award was created in 1949 by the National Civic League. Every year the award is themed, this year's theme is "Enhancing health and well-being through civic engagement." Based off of the criteria, the City of Rancho Cucamonga submitted an application surrounding three projects: building trust and Los Amigos Park, suicide awareness and prevention, and land development.
The City received the exciting news of becoming an All-America City Finalist during the midst of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and stay-at-home orders coming into affect. During that time, the City needed to focus on our community and working through those challenges. Now that we begin our "new normal", we have the opportunity refocus on other projects. Virtual final presentations are scheduled for August 17-19, 2020. The last few months have been challenging but our #RCcommUNITY has shown resiliency and qualities that reassure, Rancho Cucamonga is an All-America City.
