North Etiwanda Preserve CLOSED July 4th

North Etiwanda Preserve Map

Due to increased fire danger, the San Bernardino County Fire Department will be implementing a closure of the North Etiwanda Preserve over the 4th of July holiday.

The closure is being implemented under the authority granted to the fire chief. The closure is supported by San Bernardino County Special Districts, the agency that manages the North Etiwanda Preserve.

The closure is effective from 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, through 6:30 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025.

This prohibition is in addition to the Rules and Regulations of the North Etiwanda Preserve, which are available at https://specialdistricts.sbcounty.gov/home/parks-and-recreation/north-etiwanda-preserve/.

The closure is necessary to ensure public safety and prevent the ignition of a wildfire that could damage or destroy the region's natural resources and the historically significant areas within the North Etiwanda Preserve. Over the last month, San Bernardino County has experienced multiple wildfires, both by natural and manmade causes. All fireworks are illegal in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. The use of fireworks puts the community at unnecessary risk from a preventable wildfire.

The Fire District encourages residents to work alongside public safety personnel by reporting the use of fireworks to the Fire Dispatch Center by calling the non-emergency number 1-909-941-1488. “If you see something, say something,” encourages the Fire Marshal, Shane Adams. “Help us keep your homes and our environment safe from preventable wildfires caused by those whose disregard for others puts all of us at unnecessary risk.”

The Rancho Cucamonga Fire District encourages residents and visitors to enjoy professional fireworks displays at one of several venues throughout San Bernardino County, including the one at LoanMart Field at the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter.
